I hope these images convey at least some of the beauty of the salt marshes and the ocean that surround this unspoiled barrier island, Assateague. There is quite a variety of shorebirds and waterfowl that inhabit this place: Brown Pelican, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Sandpiper, Red-winged Blackbird and more.
